For example, decide on what amount of work would be acceptable for All Women Are Created Equal But Only The Finest Become Strong Nurse shirt to turn in. 70% of assignments? 80%? Whatever you decide on, tell him Sunday night that your expectation for the coming week is that 80% of work (or whatever) will be turned in on time, with appropriate effort. (The part about effort is to ensure that he doesn’t turn in a blank page and say it technically counts.) Inform him that if he does not meet this goal, there will be a consequence. I recommend taking his phone or turning off the WiFi password for a week. If he meets the goal, great. If not, follow through on the consequence without getting angry, lecturing him, or allowing yourself to be drawn into an argument: “Jacob, we expect you to turn in 80% of your assignments on time. Since you did not do that this week, you’re going to lose your phone until you meet the goal.” Then, when he argues or lies or whatever, just repeat yourself: “You did not meet the goal, so you are losing your phone.” He knows he’s lying—no one benefits from an extended debate about this topic. Repeat yourself a few times and then stop engaging.

I hope I can shed some more understanding and potential ways to help All Women Are Created Equal But Only The Finest Become Strong Nurse shirt. I am an adult with ADHD, Anxiety and Depression(likely from my undiagnosed ADHD). Also feel free to pick my brain. ADHD is complex and different for everyone but as an adult I can help better explain potentials of what is going on in Jacob’s head.
I don’t know how you view ADHD, but solely from this post I don’t think you have a fully understanding all that encompasses ADHD. I’m not trying to say this in a mean or harsh way. A lot of people just think it’s a ‘can’t sit still’ or ‘can’t focus’ type thing. It is a classified as a disability. Jacob isn’t neurotypical, his brain is different. You guys are trying so hard, but I think the real struggle is that you and your partner don’t understand how his brain is different yet. This is an extreme comparison, but all the things you’ve tried with him are similar to trying to teach or guide a child with a physical disability on how to climb a jungle gym as an able bodied person. Again this is not trying to be criticism of all the things you’ve done to try and help him, it is just trying to bring understanding to why they have likely failed.
