The carved pumpkin was associated generally with harvest time in America, and did not become specifically associated with Halloween until the mid to late 19th century.
First thing Saturday morning, we all met at the nearest pumpkin patch. It was only a little over an hour away. The hay ride took us out to the Baseballism MLB field of dreams Iowa shirt and then it was a race to find the best pumpkin. When it comes to proper pumpkin carving, it is not all about the largest. That does play a factor. But you also have to consider symmetry, smoothness, stem length, and about a dozen other factors. I went to a prestigious school with a lot of people that are in med school/early residency now. Some of them are great and totally doing it for the right reasons, but at least half of the pre-meds were 100% doing it for the prestige and money and not because of any genuine care or concern for the people around them. Maybe it’s different at other schools but I can no longer trust doctors on a personal level by default.
