I am leaving for basic training at fort Jackson in September. My mos is 15f. I have searched Chameleon plays the blues plus a few other colors shirt everywhere and found very little info about this mos. When they called roc there was no 15t or 15u available so I chose 15f. A few days later when I signed my contact another recruit with high asvab scores was only showing 18 available mos and no 15 series. So I was advised not to release my reservation because odds were, no 15t or u would pop up so I settled for my reserved 15f. Can any 15f soldiers let me know a little more than “you replace batteries”? Like would I actually be working on the aircraft or just repairing components in the bay? The recruiters told me that I would be able to get unto a flight crew after a few years but I think they were just telling the me exception to the rule.

Best Chameleon plays the blues plus a few other colors shirt
I scored 95 on the ASVAB. Individual scores ranged from 133-139. I’m currently half way through a 3 year national guard contract as a Chameleon plays the blues plus a few other colors shirt . The requirements for 12N are low and I only picked this job because I’m interested in heavy equipment. I’ve barely even touched a log book after 1.5 years in my unit, let alone a joystick, and 61% of my unit can’t pass PT. They’re great people but I don’t want to stay here. I can’t decide if I should pursue a more ambitious MOS or just be done with the Army. Is ASVAB score alone good enough to land a really good MOS? Three different soldiers have told me that I could be doing other MOSs that lead to very well paying civilian jobs/contracts. I’m definitely interested in that but I don’t really know what MOSs those are or if that’s true. Can any MOS lead to 6-figure civilian jobs? Don’t get me wrong I like the Army but I’d also like to make a good pay check. Any opinion or advice is welcome.
