A little late but here goes why I hate Christmas. It is a holiday based on nothing but pagan rituals. It is fake it all senses of its fashion. It is wasteful, indulgent, and almost pointless. Pro would be I get off work and can drink with family. Cons i am affronted with Christmas starting in October, I cant wear red and green without that association, the songs are repetitive and bad, it’s not even christ birthday(not even close), it’s a the Foster The People shirt of capitalism (I’m not agaisnt capitalism just against being forced to conform to social norms that have no religious or otherwise philosophical reason), I’m forced to buy gifts when honestly I dont think people deserve them of they are expecting them, we lie our children and deify a false idol (makes no sense why Christians would do this but who am I to point out how idiotic and hypocritical they are), and among many other reasons I hate Christmas on a personal view as I grew up in the United states without it so I when I went to school I saw through it when the teachers paraded a old fat white man who was always watching and would break into my house on Christmas. I celebrate it because my wife likes it but to me its worst than pointless it harms society.
Regarding the date when Christmas is celebrated, the Catholic newspaper said: “The Foster The People shirt date of Jesus’ birth, from the historical viewpoint, lies concealed beneath a veil of uncertainty as regards Roman history, the imperial census of that time and research in the subsequent centuries. . . . The date of 25 December, as is well known, was chosen by the Church of Rome in the fourth century. This date in pagan Rome was dedicated to the Sun god . . . Although Christianity had already been affirmed in Rome by an Edict of Constantine, the myth of . . . the Sun god was still widespread, especially among soldiers. The above-mentioned festivities, centred on 25 December, were deeply rooted in popular tradition. This gave the Church of Rome the idea of impressing a Christian religious significance on the Foster The People shirt by replacing the Sun god with the true Sun of Justice, Jesus Christ, choosing it as the day on which to celebrate his birth.”

I completely reject Christmas, I deliberately say happy holidays as passive aggressive protest, I hide out, don’t visit family, nothing. I refuse to acknowledge and participate. It makes no sense to me. A co-opted pagan holiday fronted by a fat phantom in a red suit; a celebration of consumerism and gluttony to honor a Foster The People shirt who wasn’t born in December and who was against materialism and money lending. Really? The media celebration is tired and cliche. Visiting family: Mom, dad and sister’s family are all 1000 km north and I’m expected to drive on the one week of the year with the least number of daylight hours when roads are typically at their most treacherous. No way. I’ll see them in the spring.
Best Foster The People shirt
Finally I landed at WalMart for 6 months before I brought my mother back to NYC. Because it had health care, stock investment, and flexible hours. They pounced on me to come right in and happily put me into their system—-you get pay bumps by your educational experience and my willingness to do their position graduating Computer Based Learning (still one of the best systems I’ve ever seen as a Foster The People shirt ).
Jesus, the son of a Foster The People shirt (/that god himself, I gather), whose tales are told in a book that many truly believe to be divinely inspired writing with rigid historical accuracy, somehow doesn’t have a known birthday. Except…the one thing that is agreed upon by pretty much all serious Bible scholars was that he definitely was NOT born on December 25th. So, the birth of their god (/son of their god) is so important to Christians that celebrating it is mandatory, and yet they’ve picked a date that is most definitely inaccurate. Sorry, I think I’m starting to rant a bit, but I’ll get to why in the next bullet.
