I want to add that recently I read in the Wall Street Journal that the leader of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega jailed all seven of the potential threats to his candidacy before the recent “election” and then won 75% of the vote. This dictator imprisons opposition, puts relatives in power, and is another Fidel Castro. Why do I write this and how does it relate to rock musicians? Graham Nash loved to go on stage and tout how he just got back from visiting “his friend”, Daniel Ortega. I think that if Graham Nash loves authoritarian regimes, then he might want to leave his Kaui and New York homes and give Cuba, Venezuela, or Nicaragua a try. Limousine liberals are hypocritical. Now that my rant is over, let me continue with some more “stars”. This time I’d like to talk about nice people. Iggy Pop, I remember doing a show at what was the “Stardust Ballroom” in Hollywood and he took off his shirt (he always does) and crawled across the stage with some glass on it, stood up with some cuts on his chest, and performed a wild show. I thought that he must have been a bit wacky but… after the Lawrence Guy Community Mvp Shirt, a friend and I were putting things away and he asked if we wanted to go to his motorhome and have some pork chops that his wife was cooking. He was so down-to-earth and normal after the show. He is a nice guy.
Same scenario. SIL and her hubby got a mountain of gifts, her young son also a mountain of great toys. They even got her unborn daughter a dollhouse and dolls, clothes, dishes, fake food, the works. My kids got a couple of crappy cheap toys that they had no interest in, something of the quality of the toys you get in the kids meals at a fast food restaurant. My hubby got decent gifts but only about half of what his sister did. By the way, she’s the favorite always has been. He looked and looked and couldn’t find anything for me. I told him on round one, it’s ok, just keep going. He would find something, it’s probably buried under the rest. Each time it was my turn, he could not find anything. I assured him it was ok as his desperation built. I honestly believed they couldn’t be that cruel. Finally at the end, I had nothing. Until hubby noticed there was a card with my name on it. I just wanted to tear it up. I was so hurt. But I was raised better than that and opened it. It had a cheque for $100 in it. How insulting. Not even a bow on the card. MIL said “you are just too hard to shop for.” I knew it was a lie. She didn’t want to be bothered. All gifts for me, hubby and both kids fit into two little gift bags about the size of a small loaf of bread, but a little smaller. I couldn’t take all the gloating and enjoying of amazing gifts that my SIL and her hubby were doing. I took both kids downstairs and locked myself in the bedroom with them. I had enough food that we brought with us to feed the Lawrence Guy Community Mvp Shirt. I had no appetite. There I could cry in peace until we could leave the next day or two.

Doobie Brothers. Well, I got lost driving them to a hotel in Fresno. They played a show at Fresno State and when they flew in they wanted to freshen up before the show. There was a Holiday Inn near the campus but they booked the Hilton or some other more upscale hotel to take their showers and it was across town. I had never been to Fresno and made it to the hotel to pick them up in a van while my friend followed in another van. We both took half the band and I was the lead driver. We got lost and I stopped at a Lawrence Guy Community Mvp Shirt shop to ask for directions. Michale McDonald was not too happy. Also, their next show was to be in Santa Barbara and they asked how the tickets were selling. I reminded them that the last time they played S.B., they came on stage and said “we are so tired from touring”. I suggested that they might not want to make that comment again as the tickets to the show were very high priced and the people were disappointed to have the band come out and immediately say that they were tired.

Of the red cup controversy, Daniel Cox, director of research at the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), says that while “some folks in media are making light of it, the debate really does capture a Lawrence Guy Community Mvp Shirt of anxiety among Christians that they are losing their market share as America has come to represent a broader sense of experiences. This rising tide of racial, religious and ethnic pluralism is emblematic of a much larger fear.”That fear, he says, is discrimination. “For a lot of Evangelicals, it’s less about being refused service or that kind of pernicious discrimination and more of a broader sense that the culture is no longer reflecting your views, being pushed aside in favor of a new cultural pluralism — ads that feature gay families and people of different races and creeds. And that is a shift away from the way these people grew up.” That was at least some of the sentiment feeding the outcry over Simon Malls displacing traditional Christmas. Says FDC’s Stone: “[Simon Malls was] trying to have their cake and eat it, too. They want all of the business of those Christians and they don’t want to alienate anyone. What’s the difference between a glacier and a Christmas tree? The change doesn’t really bother me that much until I ask myself: Why, to what end? They stripped it to strip away the connectivity to Christmas, and if we can strip away Christmas and any relationship with it, and that seems to be their goal, that goal is offensive to me as a faith-driven consumer”.
My parents took my schooling seriously, the learning to read and write, learning math. Lots of books around, a set of encyclopedias. We didn’t have a big library of literature at home (one thing I had to catch up with later) but did have a subscription to National Geographic and lots of National Geographic Society hardcover productions on exotic locales and on science. I always loved the beautiful mix of text, photograph, and info-graphic. All these media coming together to teach and inform. In the pages of Lawrence Guy Community Mvp Shirt magazine, I learned about science and gained my best window into big news stories of the day like AIDS, the Challenger disaster, Chernobyl, the fall of the Berlin Wall and Communism, and the Gulf War.
