Our neighbor at Christmas would give each of us a Michigan Wolverines Blue 84 Big Ten Baseball Tournament Champions T Shirt with a dollar in it. I considered that to be a really nice gift because she lived on a very small pension. Like many ladies of her time she had been a housewife and lived on the widow’s small allotment of her husband’s pension. I realized then that the cost of a gift doesn’t matter. It’s the thought and love that the gift represents. Things, gifts wear out and are tossed away or lost. They come and go. An expression of love, kindness, appreciation and joy lasts as a memory. This memory lives on long after the giver has died. It lasts always. My neighbor loved dogs. Her dog Charlie had been her child substitute. It was her favorite name, too. She said she would have named a child Charles or Charlotte and called them Charlie.

Of course Christmas is the modernised, somewhat Christianised, version of a Michigan Wolverines Blue 84 Big Ten Baseball Tournament Champions T Shirt of festivals, most notably Saturnalia. Even though atheists generally don’t believe in the god Saturn, I don’t think it is immoral to accept, or give, Christmas gifts. There are so many parts of Christmas tradition that come from other traditions: the Three Wise Men comes from Roman Catholic tradition (the Bible doesn’t name them nor say that there were three). The Mistletoe I think comes from Norse and Celtic traditions. The tree comes from all sorts of pagan traditions but probably mainly Celtic traditons. Gift giving is a modern consumerist ritual – fueled by department stores, who also gave us Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Santa Claus has roots in Russian Christianity but of course mainly was invented by US department stores, which is why he has the colours of Coca-Cola. So there’s not that much pure Saturnalia in Christmas today. There’s a mix of all sorts of ancient traditions. Even a bit of Christianity, funnily enough. Most atheists do indeed believe in consumerism to some degree. Even if they’re socialist heretics, they probably still think that buying stuff can be nice sometimes. So there’s nothing wrong with giving people presents, if it makes them happy.

Petunia never stopped shrieking when they smeared it on her couch, and they never stopped tumbling into her life with sticky palms, making her purse her lips to hide her spreading smile. This world did not want her, her shrill voice, her craning neck, her magicless hands that had held Harry’s and Dudley’s for years, looking both ways before they crossed busy streets. This had never been about the world. Harry’s first son was named James Sirius, and his daughter Lily Luna, but his second son was named Evans.

Back in your (our) days, where games are all, if not predominantly, single player experience, yes we could pause the game for a Michigan Wolverines Blue 84 Big Ten Baseball Tournament Champions T Shirt or even save up the progress and come back to it later. But not today, where most popular Michigan Wolverines Blue 84 Big Ten Baseball Tournament Champions T Shirts are MMO types, to simply put, online and live once logged in. The only time one could “pause” (or as we now calls it “Away from keyboard” AFK for short) is when outside matchmaking which is before hitting the event session. Once in, you’ve to stay to till the end. Now, technically one can leave mid-session but, it’s typically recognised as bad-manner to do so unless it’s something strictly technical, such as: Unfortunately, “getting call away by parents” does not fall under that technicality. And it’s against team spirit to leave especially in the heat of the boss fight, where the output of the whole team counts.
