United Kingdom: The UK is also famous for Christmas Cake – some people love it and some people really don’t like it! It’s traditionally a rich fruit cake covered with marzipan and icing – and often top with Christmas themed cake decorations like a spring of holly. In the UK, the main Christmas Meal is usually eaten at lunchtime or early afternoon on Christmas Day. It’s normally roast turkey, roast vegetables and ‘all the trimmings’ which means vegetables like carrots & peas, stuffing and sometimes bacon and sausages. This means that at holiday time I was always subjected to poorly-executed whipped sweet potatoes with dreaded marshmallows, the infamous ubiquitous green bean casserole, store-bought potato salad, deviled eggs, salt-cured ham on burnt canned biscuits, dried-out turkey with cornbread stuffing and unseasoned gravy. In the 13 days leading up to Christmas, 13 tricksy troll-like characters come out to play in Iceland. The Yule Lads (jólasveinarnir or jólasveinar in Icelandic) visit the children across the country over the 13 nights leading up to Christmas. We didn’t hear from him for nearly two months, and more of the Pager Code T Shirt  came out. Obviously, Carise had never had cancer – the debt was just crap like video games and booze. And, the bit that made me angry, was that despite both Ex and I talking about Ruby’s mother as if she was dead, Ex had spent the last few months taking Ruby to see Carise without telling me. Ruby ended up telling me that Carise was mean to her, even slapping her a few times and calling her retarded because of her hearing. Momma Bear was pissed.

She’s small for her age (kindergarten), but she has a strong will. She tests the patience of teacher and aides, but if one asks any of them about her, they will smile and probably say, “oh, she’s so cute.” When it is “choice time” in P.E., her choice is basketball. Although the basketball is almost as big as she is and she can barely lift it up in the Pager Code T Shirt , she is fiercely attached to it. She doesn’t need height to dribble the ball anyway. That she can do and if she was allowed, she could do it far longer than most kids her age.
