Agree. And RDR2 had the most spectacular expectations of The Stone Roses Adored shirt to that point. And they still exceeded them all. It’s the most critically acclaimed game of all time for console. It’s the second most critically acclaimed game for PC, behind only the original Zelda released in 2000. Plus they were under investor pressure to push another GTA after GTA V and they took a long-term approach and made a slow-moving western instead. It’s such a niche genre too, and it’s one of the best selling games of all time now. They fire on all cylinders. Every game they release gets acclaim and every game lives not only up to but beyond the hype. I wish they didn’t soil some of their releases reputations with their online modes because the single players are just absolute works of art. RDR2 even got recognized by the SGA for its narrative. NYT had an op-ed arguing it should be considered with the likes of The Godfather.

I feel like Rockstar also doesn’t announce any of The Stone Roses Adored shirt until they’ve been practically beta tested to the max and they only have a few months left to really get orders ready. I like there model better. Don’t say shit and just do the job. Once a company markets the game publicly they initially give themselves a ticking time bomb. They now have public expectation and I feel like cyberpunk missed and should’ve just stayed quiet longer and made a more next-gen game. But instead they made a lackluster version of FarCry.
