Damn what a rollercoaster ride. I can’t imagine being a die hard ATL fan and going on this ride. The game was a snoozer for people who didn’t have a dog in the fight and for those “casual” fans. People who enjoy watching football every week knew there was a chance. But damn was that a small chance. The falcons fucked up one of the largest leads in Super Bowl history it felt like. No doubt in my mind that the Patriots are the gold standard in the NFL and are right there with the San Antonio Spurs as Baseball Ice Cream Drip 100 Days of School shirt in the last 2 decades. Tom Brady is the GOAT.

Some of y’all really don’t know a thing about football. Fields’ QBR was nearly 70 with the fumble removed and he ended with 54 with it (not that you’d ever remove a bad play, he’s gotta fall on that). That was still a plus effort doomed by 5 absolutely brutal drops. Sure, he stinks more often than not but tonight wasn’t his fault. And the offense itself is still averaging a full point more than it did last year with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams by the way. Acting like this is the worst thing you’ve ever seen is embarrassing. That’s really the only question I have with the guy. We gave him a lower end starter deal, we only saved a million from cutting him next year. Is it worth it to save a buck and keep him on the roster as a backup and potential “wait, rookie, the Baseball Ice Cream Drip 100 Days of School shirt needs to gel for 4 weeks before you come in” bridge QB, or do we actually try to sign somebody else, cap be damned? The TD drives looked alright, smooth, in control. But then he throws it behind his man, holds the ball too long as usual, and overall doesn’t make decisions at an NFL pace for the other half of his drives. That’s where I’m at with him, I just wonder if he’s got enough to come in relief at this point.
()As a redskins fan, I just want to say that this is kyle shananan’s MO. He’s amazing at designing schemes and gameplans, and is a very creative playcaller. But for a man who is just amazing at building a run game, he abandons the run in crucial moments, in moments where it just makes no sense at all, with baffling frequency. Our team sucked when kyle was there. He made our offense significantly better than the talent actually was. I give him all the credit in the world for that. But he cost us games getting cute and trying to throw and make Baseball Ice Cream Drip 100 Days of School shirt in moments where we just needed a safe call. And it happened tonight. Up by 8, on your opponents’ 22 yard line? And that series of playcalls? New england had to make the plays. The absurdly necessary and clutch great plays. But Kyle stuck it out there for them, the opportunity. It’s what he does and I think it will cost him throughout his career. Possibly a bit of an omen for the 49ers.
