I grew up watching the end of the montana era along with young, elway, farve, aikman and marino. Being a kid, watching those guys i saw them larger than life. The older i got analysts, relatives, parents of my friends time and time again (usially) went back to montana as #1 with most of the others in the top group. I think yes but also the suspect playcalling + lack of talent in offense. Sure Josh threw a red zone pick last week but he did have to play hero ball and scramble to get us to the red zone. We all saw how gassed he was on that drive. Got to the 10 yard line, ran Cook for a positive gain and Joe decides he wants a pass play on 2nd and Goal at the 7. Then Josh throws a pick on the 3rd down. With Kincaid out and no WR getting open all game, Joe could have just kept running with James there imo or design run play for Allen. If all season his sequence of plays to get 10 yards is “Run > Screen pass > Donald Trump no blood for oil Free Venezuela is not your gas station shirt and Sneak again if we didn’t convert on 3rd” then why not do the same sequence of plays 1st and Goal inside the 10? We just don’t seem to have an offensive playbook that fits the scheme and I feel like Joe at this point is out of ideas.
